Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
A baby was strapped to my back, while another crawled around in the playground. I spent 12 hours days for months sanding and taking wallpaper off, all and with just one child. Ha! The whole thing started to seem logical, however it was still far from being finished. For furnishing the space it would take a lot of effort both in time and money. Also, I had go to my favorite stores. To keep my budget in good shape, I went out with my three boys in search for deals at estate sales. It was our weekly routine to visit garage sales and auctions on the weekend and purchase a range of old pieces and new constructed. My work days were spent on the drive either painting or sanding. The furniture I found looked similar to... that's when my desire to repair furniture was born. I continued to work on furniture long after we furnished our house. In the market in town I set up a little space, and also sold items. Eventually, I had too lots of pieces to keep in the available space. The house became a venue where I would host open houses. Up to 1000 visitors could see items from my first floor and purchase these items. My company Growing Days began here. While my company grew as did our family. Being a new mom I was able to strike the right balance to both start my own company and being a decent mother. Growing Days seemed like the ideal combination. Nora, my 4th kid was born in the year 2013. My company was doing well but I wanted a rest. I decided to stop working on my antique furniture for a few months and be at home with the children. It was exactly what I was looking for at the moment. After a few minutes I began to hear my phone getting busy. People were calling me and asking for help with their interior decorating and home renovations. These people had mostly been to my home during open houses for furniture. After a while I started taking on clients according to my schedule. In no time, I was managing numerous accounts as well as a home remodeling business. If you had told me that this business of mine would turn into an idea for a TV show on DIY Network I probably would have thought you were crazy. When I look back, it still makes me giggle.
